“I am so happy with my results. I would like to thank you for all the support you have provided me throughout my apprenticeship, I could not have asked for a better learning mentor you have gone above and beyond to help me achieve the grade I wanted, as well as motivated me to achieve this in times where I have doubted myself.  I also found my whole apprenticeship course with NWEAT great, the support materials provided have all been helpful, and there are so many opportunities available to better your career such as online courses where you receive a certified qualification after. There is always feedback on your work to help understand areas you may be struggling with, and always recaps to ensure your knowledge is up to date, and at a standard suitable for your end point assessments.  Thank you so much I am so pleased and would 100% recommend to others.”

"Ever since I started this great journey I had a guide, a star in the sky to follow and that man is Paul Wakefield. He made the apprenticeship process smooth and quick like a flash, explained everything perfectly. I was prepared like batman ready for battle. I wouldn’t recommend any changes to the programme as it is perfect just the way it is. Let me tell you this, I was supported from day 1 till the end and I would 100% recommend my friends or families to take this journey and complete it once and for all."

“Throughout my apprenticeship my experience has been enjoyable and beneficial, I have learnt new skills and developed my existing skills which has allowed me to apply these to my role within the work place, allowing me to get the most out of my apprenticeship as you are gaining knowledge from your assessor and completing modules as well as experience, the assessors are there whenever you need help or guidance. While on my apprenticeship I have found that my confidence and knowledge has improved as I was receiving the correct resources and information when completing the modules given, I felt more confident in completing tasks as I had been set up and supported correctly throughout, this allowed me to develop both my knowledge and confidence during the programme this allowed me to apply my knowledge and confidence to my job role. During my apprenticeship I was set up correctly and given the correct information and resources needed in order to complete modules and progress on the programme, I couldn’t recommend any changes as I found that the assessor do everything they can in order to support you and guide you to help you succeed. I would highly recommend NWEAT to others if they were looking to complete an apprenticeship as you are given the support you need in order to complete the programme and progress in the work place, all information you are provided with is useful and can be applied in the workplace to help you succeed and gain experience.”

"My apprenticeship experience was a brilliant learning opportunity for me, and I learnt a lot that I now use in my daily role. During my time of completing my apprenticeship, one of the topics I believe I improved the most was definitely my knowledge of the Business as a whole and my knowledge of all the different legislations and policies. Throughout my apprenticeship I felt like I was provided with a lot of support from my assessor and was provided with all the necessary hands out I needed. They also helped me manage my time and assisted me with ensuring I was up to date and on top of my work. For my EPA (End Point Assessment) I felt like I was very well prepared, and my assessor was very thorough on explaining what was going to happen during this. I would highly recommend NWEAT for completing your apprenticeship as I was provided with all the support I could have asked for/that was needed and I was very informed on what work I needed to complete throughout the course of my apprenticeship."

"My experience whilst taking this apprenticeship has been amazing and better than I expected! My confidence has improved massively and also my customer service skills During my time on the programme I have received a lot of support and encouragement from my assessor Andy he has been great help and has helped me massively! Whenever there has been an issue Andy has always took his time to help me get the issue resolved. I would not recommend any changes! As I think everything has been excellent. I was fully prepared for my EPA because Andy gave me all of the help I needed to get myself prepared to pass this programme. I walked away with a distinction and I cannot thank Andy enough for all of the support and guidance he has given me! I would recommend NWEAT to other people because you get all of the correct support you need to help get yourself ready to pass the apprenticeship."

"I feel the experience of being on 2 apprenticeships has been smooth running and very straight forward. There has been a piece of work set each month by the assessor who has made it clear of what I need to do for the following month. I have received full support throughout my apprenticeship and more. Andy has always been on hand at any time to help me with any work I needed help with. He made sure I was full prepared for my Level 2 Customer Service EPA, which gave me confidence going into this as it was all online. Progressing on to my Level 3 Business Admin, his support has been continuous. Always going above and beyond. I would 100% recommend NWEAT to any one to complete an apprenticeship, especially from the experience I have received so far."

"My experience with my apprenticeship was one of continual learning and self development and assisted development. It was a stress free way to improve myself as a person and improve myself as a business person. The aspect of myself I felt improve most was my sense of accountability, knowing I had to complete an objective for a time frame in order to progress my qualification and thus career helped me place accountability for my future on myself. I felt incredibly supported during my time as an apprentice. My advisor Andy Hickey was only an email away if I needed him and in our monthly meetings he was always there, taking time to get to me as a person not just at one of his students. I would recommend that each apprentice can choose a project relevant to their course that they can apply all their learning to at the end of the course and show their newly learnt skills. I absolutely would recommend NWEAT to anyone who wanted to complete an apprenticeship or to anyone looking to bring on an apprentice company to support and assess their apprentices."

"I have had a really good experience overall on my apprenticeship and feel that it has really helped me progress through into my job role. During my time I have certainly improved on my communication and teamwork skill due to the activities and some of the challenges I have come across that have allowed me to improve these skills. I am now more comfortable around meeting new people and communicating with different people in comparison to when I first joined the company. I feel that I was definitely supported throughout the whole of my apprenticeship as I always had my NVQ assessor to speak to if I ever needed any help with anything. As I have now passed my end point assessment, I can say that I was more than prepared for this due to the help and guidance that I received as well as gaining all of the knowledge along the way. I would definitely recommend NWEAT to others as it helped and guided me to complete my apprenticeship."

"Since starting my apprenticeship in 2018 doing Customer Service Level 2 I have been thoroughly supported and engaged with throughout my courses due to monthly meetings with my assessor Andy all the way through to me finishing my Level 3 Business Admin course last month. He has helped and supported me consistently over my 2 years and is always contactable even if I needed something out of normal working hours. I think it goes without saying that I found Business Admin Level 3 considerably more challenging than Customer Service Level 2 not only in terms of amount of work but also by having to carry out other tasks such as my project and interview. However, I was able to apply the skills I had gained on my apprenticeship into my work role which benefited me massively and helped me grow in confidence as I was quite nervous at first as it was my first full time job after leaving sixth form. Before I was due to carry out my end point assessment I was quite nervous but in the days beforehand Andy rang me and reassured me and made me feel more comfortable about doing it which was backed up by me having a great end point assessor in Barry who also made me feel very comfortable before starting my assessment. When I found out I had gained a Distinction grade and 100/100 on both modules I was over the moon and I put a lot of my success down to the help and support Andy had given me. In conclusion, the support from Andy and my colleagues at THG has been unparalleled and I could not recommend Andy and NWEAT enough to future apprentices/employers."

"My experience has been really positive, I've learned so much throughout my experience and even received a promotion during this time as a result of my development through the apprenticeship scheme. I've also made some really good friends and expanded my network to a point now where I regularly interact with all sorts of different people from different backgrounds. I think my biggest improvement I've made is to my confidence. Before starting the apprenticeship, I was quite unsure of myself and liked to double check everything with other people. Now, I feel more assertive and I'm able to trust myself to do a good job and give the best answers/ advice that I can. I've been really supported throughout the apprenticeship and would not have achieved nearly as much without my assessor Andy, my manager Tom, the apprenticeship coordinator Janice, and THG education team. They've all helped me to learn more about my area of the business but have also inspired me and helped me make personal improvements to things like my confidence, professionalism and ability to adapt to new challenges. I really enjoy and appreciate the program as it is so no changes to recommend at this point. I have passed my first EPA from my first apprenticeship and achieved a distinction. I was very well prepared and went in feeling confident and relaxed. I would absolutely recommend NWEAT to anyone looking to do an apprenticeship and have done so through recommendations to some of my friends, who've since joined. NWEAT are professional, supportive and help bring out the best in the individual."

"I have thoroughly enjoyed working on my apprenticeship, and believe I have improved on my English and Maths skills, and how to apply this to the workplace and everyday life. I have also developed skills in understanding my rights in the workplace, regulations of the workplace etc. The support I have received has been amazing and I can't complain with how tutors have gone about making sure I have everything I need to feel safe and happy at work, especially Lauren. The OneFile that has been introduced has made the apprenticeship even better in my opinion, and don't think that anything needs to be changed at the moment. From everything I have gained / learnt from NWEAT, I would definitely recommend this to others in order to complete their apprenticeship."

Business Administrator Level 3

Apprenticeship, March 2021

"I have had a fantastic time on my apprenticeship over both my L2 and L3 courses. As I wasn’t the best in exam/classroom environments in school, university I felt wasn’t the best route to go down and an apprenticeship in the workplace seemed the best option for me, with learning on the job and doing my other modules I didn’t feel the same pressure as I would in exam hall. Over the 2 years I have thoroughly enjoyed it as I got to work at my own pace and with the help and support from Andy and Janice I feel I went from strength to strength whilst also meeting amazing people along the way which is always a bonus! I feel like I have improved my communication skills the most during my time on my apprenticeship as when I joined THG it was my first time in a workplace/office environment so wasn’t the most confident either which would of course lead to miscommunication and mistakes in my work but as I grew and progressed I feel like I built my confidence up and therefore was not as worried to speak to people more and understand things fully instead of not speaking up and asking questions or putting my view across. I can honestly say I had the best support possible as Andy was always there for me to ask questions to and help me if I was struggling on a particular topic. Even if I was working out of work hours on my NVQ work and I needed help or to ask a question Andy would always been on hand day or night to help me and insure I didn’t fall behind or get stuck for long periods of time. He also helped me by being very welcoming and easy to talk to. From the get go I felt comfortable with Andy and therefore would not hesitate to ask for help when needed which was my downfall with teachers on school. Everything with the programme is fine from my point of view, the monthly meetings are beneficial as it isn’t too much but yet is still enough to remember what questions to ask if I had thought of something in between monthly meetings and the process over the course of the year is very organised. I passed my end point assessment. Andy rang me multiple times before to ensure I was prepared and was on hand to ask any last minute questions which I think is a key factor in me gaining a distinction grade and 100/100 marks on both my project and interview. I would 100% recommend NWEAT. A fantastic company with fantastic assessors who would go above and beyond for their apprentices to ensure the best results possible."

"I’ve had a positive experience so far on the course, even despite lockdown and remote learning/meetings I feel confident with the information and guidance I’ve been given. My advisor Leonie makes me feel comfortable when asking any questions, she also sends me any additional information I may need if I’m struggling with certain units. She also responds quickly to emails despite remote learning. I would 100% recommend NWEAT for apprenticeship learning as it is more work based learning verses going to a college a few days per week. This is a lot more productive as you have access to the information you require to complete the units around you. For me personally I would love to have the entire units uploaded on one file so I can pick and choose what topic to learn about/move on freely. And choose relevant units based on my progress within the business."

Business Administrator Level 3

Apprenticeship, February 2021

"The course I did was a Level 3 Business Administration course and I enjoyed my time studying. I learnt a lot, not only about administration but also about how a business works and how I can improve as an employee. This was probably the thing I improved on most during my time on the apprenticeship; I developed a lot of transferrable skills as well as knowledge which will help me succeed in my career. Throughout the course I was always fully supported, whether it be by having my work marked and gathering feedback, being able to email/communicate with my tutor when needed or the monthly meetings that I had with my tutor – I always felt like there was someone to support me should I need it, which in itself, gave me confidence in what I was doing. My time during my apprenticeship was slightly different to ‘normal’ as it was right in the middle of the lockdowns and all of the restrictions and difficulties that Covid brought. Therefore it is tough for me to offer improvements as I felt like we did what we could do in order for everything to be completed on time and to a high standard. One thing, however, that I have thought about since finishing is the way that my learning was set out. At times, it could be quite mundane and disinteresting, just reading from the textbooks and answering the questions. So maybe it could be useful/more engaging if there were more interactive ways to learn the content? Although, having said that, it would’ve been tough for this to apply to me given that most of my apprenticeship was done from home and over skype! Even my EPA was different to usual as it was all remotely completed. However, with that being said, I did feel fully prepared before going into it. My tutor had prepped me for any questions that the assessor may ask and I think the practice runs (of my presentation) that my tutor arranged definitely helped with that. Overall, my experience with NWEAT was really positive – I found the course to be really informative (I learnt things that I didn’t expect to learn) and I felt like the tutoring was really supportive and mature. I wasn’t treated like a schoolkid, which was a worry for me when signing up for the apprenticeship. I would definitely recommend NWEAT to other people as I feel like my experience was so much more positive than my friends, who didn’t use NWEAT."

"During my apprenticeship I have been supported thoroughly by my tutor as well as my colleagues at work. I have enjoyed the experience of being able to learn alongside working on the job. During my time on the apprenticeship, I have improved on my communication skills such as talking on the phone formally and writing emails formally too. I would certainly recommend NWEAT to others who are interesting in L3 Business Admin because during my time as an apprentice, I have felt very supported by my tutor even during uncertain times (COVID) work has always been sent over. Nothing has been put on hold."

"My experience as an Business Administrator Level 3 apprentice has been wonderful, I have enjoyed the time at work and I have gained a lot of experiences such as how to deal with client's effectively. My confidence level has boosted a lot. I think the best part of the apprenticeship is that you can achieve a qualification at the same time you earn, learn and gain knowledge, skills and behaviour at workplace. My accessor Leonie Walker has helped me a lot during apprenticeship with my coursework, she explains every module very well, she repeats things to double check if the apprentice is 100% sure about what to do next and the best part is that she's very quick to reply with the emails and to solve any issues you have at workplace, with the employer or with the coursework. I really appreciate it. Leonie Walker is the best accessor ever! My EPA has been booked and just working towards to achieve it but a little nervous as well. I would recommend NWEAT to others to complete their apprenticeship as well as I had a great experience with learning environment."

"I feel like I am progressing well, keeping up to date with tasks. Assessor is very helpful and I know I can come to Leonie if I need any help with the work. Explains all tasks well. Monthly meetings are helpful to break down tasks. I don't think 1 hour study time a week is enough and it would be more beneficial going back to the 2 hours as a lot of the 1 hour is wasted setting up or deciding what you are going to work on. I would also prefer to complete most of the tasks in one sitting them starting and going back to it so 2 hours would be better."

"I work as a project worker in an organisation. As a business admin apprentice, I believe that I am progressing well because it allows me for workplace learning, gain knowledge in many different things such as how to work effectively as a part of team while developing the necessary skills and earning a Level 3 qualification. My assessor is very nice, helpful and supportive all the time. She explains me things several times if I am unclear about something. I always get quick replies from her of the emails which I think is the best part. I think that the duration period of the apprenticeship should be 12 months instead of 18 months because I wanted to start a proper job in the same field. Overall, I am happy with the apprenticeship!"

I have also took on a bigger role within my company as I am working 5 days a week, alongside my colleague who is currently working 1 day a week due to lack of childcare. I feel that I am supported by my assessor quite well, she emails regularly to make sure that I am getting on with my work and not struggling. I would suggest others commit maybe a day a week to complete apprenticeship work as well as times when you're available to do the work."

"I’m currently a student of NWEAT, my assessor is Andrew Hickey. He has been assessing me on Business admin, which is my current course of study. Andy helps me to see how business admin links to my role as a CX administrator, by showing different ways to file, to send emails among hundreds of other things. I am always provided with excellent support with anything I need, and I believe it would be almost impossible without Andy. The course helps me with my role as it trains me on different business procedures and all the ways to behave in a business environment. I have achieved a number of accolades with the apprentice project, gaining partnerships with multiple local schools for this current academic year, to try and attract new apprentice talent for the business, which could save the company a large amount of money on annual wages. The combination of all my projects that I have been tasked with and have completed could have the potential to save the company over £1 million. An achievement I am very proud of. Through the project I have also gained a lot of personal growth, learning where I can deal with situations in a more calm and professional manner. The apprentice scheme has helped to acknowledge my faults and learn to progress myself from that point. This led to me helping set up the apprentice committee which I am hoping will be a great success. I am very happy with my progress with the apprenticeship that I am doing. I have learnt a lot from the apprenticeship and from Andy and have been able to implement it into my daily work."

"I’m very pleased I had an opportunity to be involved in BIT 2 which gave me insights to the techniques on how to approach a project in the best way to have a better chance at success. Past year was very informative and Jo was always helpful, even outside of the sessions. Even more in my case, where English is my second language and Jo was able to pass some translation on key words which I wasn’t confident about. I could prepare better for my English and Math exams. As a group, we have competed 3 projects which will make a difference for our site. Going forward we will carry on working within our groups to deliver saving for the company, become more lean and to reduce waste. Our new projects are starting on the 16.10.19. We will definitely carry on using the knowledge that we gained in past year. Jo is a very pleasant and patient person which helped us to understand each step of our course and the impact it had on the whole project, and push us to the right direction when we were going of track. I'm looking forward to more courses in the future, hopefully with Jo as a assessor."
